Maintenance keeps a system a system

An alarm nobody's tested, a camera nobody's cleaned, a door reader running on a three-year-old battery — none of it counts as security. We service what we install, and what we didn't.

What's included

Security equipment degrades quietly

Nothing announces that it's stopped working properly. A camera lens gets misted or grubby and footage gets a little softer each month. A door sensor's battery runs down and starts giving false readings before it fails outright. An alarm panel quietly drops a zone and nobody notices until the one time it would have mattered.

Regular servicing catches this before it becomes a gap. We check cameras are still aimed where they should be and recording properly, that sensors and door readers are responding correctly, that batteries and firmware are up to date, and that nothing's been knocked, covered, or quietly disconnected since the last visit.

We maintain systems we installed ourselves, but just as often we're asked to take over maintenance on an existing system from another installer — if it's safe and sensible to keep running, we will, rather than insisting on a like-for-like replacement.

Good fits for a maintenance plan

  • Any site relying on CCTV for evidence if needed
  • Alarms covering a property when it's empty
  • Access control managing several staff or tenants
  • Systems installed by a supplier no longer around
  • Anyone who's never actually tested their alarm
What's covered

Five things we actually check

  • Scheduled service visits.Cameras, sensors and panels checked in person on an agreed schedule, not just when something's already gone wrong.
  • Fault diagnosis & call-outs.Something playing up between visits gets looked at properly, not guessed at over the phone.
  • Repairs & spare parts.Sensors, cameras and readers fail eventually — we carry and fit the parts to put it right.
  • System health checks & upgrades.Firmware, storage and battery health reviewed, with upgrades flagged before they become failures.
  • Maintenance on systems we didn't install.Inherited a system from a previous installer or a previous occupier? We'll assess it honestly and take it on if it's sound.

Not sure when your system was last checked?

That's usually the first sign it's worth a call. We'll take a look and tell you straight what state it's in.
